Management/Administration

Good plans shape good decisions. That's why good planning helps to make elusive dreams come true.

~Lester R. Bittel, The Nine Master Keys of Management

    • Administrators should manage our schools so that our students get a high-quality education.

    • Quality should be the highest priority of school administrators. High quality can only be achieved with careful and thorough planning.

    • Since schools are in the people business and it is the education of people that is our product, administration should foster positive involvement from all personnel. Teachers in particular have a tremendous amount of knowledge and work ethic; administration should empower them to be successful in educating our youth.

    • Effective administrators do not tell or direct but, rather inspire, support and lead.

  • Communication, Communication, Communication! Administrators should communicate carefully, efficiently and selectively. It is very important to communicate necessary information to proper staff in a very timely basis. One possible demise for administration is to keep needed information a secret.

Good management is the art of making problems so interesting and their solutions so constructive that everyone wants to get to work and deal with them.
